Introduction areas

It is the area around the extensive sightseeing route, “Three-Star Japan Alps Line”, traveling from Shinjuku to Shinshu, Hida, Hokuriku region by Chuo highway bus, in the concept of “a bus journey featuring three-star Japanese culture and the mountains of the Japan Alps”. This area has a series of mountains of 3000 m class such as the Japan Alps, called “Japanese roof”, and Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest peak. You can enjoy the magnificent natural landscape created by the representative mountains of Japan, the traditional culture coexisting with the severe nature.

Hida Takayama・
Shirakawa-go

This area is located in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture, and surrounded by mountains such as the Northern Alps. It has various tourist attractions in rich nature; Hida Takayama where the Edo period houses remain, the World Heritage Shirakawa-go / Gokayama with distinctive large roofed gassho style houses, Okuhida Onsengo where five unique hot springs exist at the foot of the Northern Alps, and Gero Onsen, one of the three major hot springs in Japan.

Matsumoto・Kamikochi

This area is located in the central part of Nagano prefecture, and spreads at the foot of the Northern Alps. Kamikochi where Azusagawa river flows at the foot of Hodaka mountains, is the representative mountain resorts of Japan. Also, Matsumoto, which has developed as the castle town of National Treasure Matsumoto Castle, has a cityscape of the Edo period.

Kanazawa・Toyama

This area faces the Japan Sea.
Kanazawa is a famous tourist city for its old town, Kenrokuen which is one of Japan’s three major gardens, traditional crafts and culture inherited from the Edo period. Toyama has Tateyama mountains close to Toyama bay. It is also known as a gateway of “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route” on the Japan Sea side.

Kiso・Komagane・Suwa

This area is located in the southern part of Nagano Prefecture.
Kiso is between Ontake mountains and the Central Alps. There are eleven post towns such as Narai-juku where you can feel the atmosphere of the Edo period in the road along Kiso river.
It’s possible to overlook magnificent figures of the both Southern and Central Alps from the town of Komagane located in the base of Mt. Komagatake.
Suwa area is surrounded by the Yatsugatake Mountains on the northeast and by the Southern Alps on the southwest and the landscape with mountains and lakes centered on Lake Suwa is called “Oriental Switzerland”.

Yamanashi・Mt. Fuji

This area is located in the southern part of Yamanashi Prefecture.
This area has Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest peak, which is registered as a World Heritage Site.At the foot of Mt. Fuji, there is a mysterious wilderness born by lava flowed out of Mt. Fuji, such as Fuji Five Lakes, Aokigahara Dense woodland and Lava Cave.

Keio Line: Shinjuku・
Mt. Takao

This area is located in the western part of Tokyo along with “Keio Line” originating from Shinjuku Station, and “Inokashira Line” originating from Shibuya.
There are many tourist attractions such as Shinjuku, one of the most popular downtown areas and entertainment spots in Tokyo, and Mt.Takao, which is popular with many climbers. Mt. Takao is blessed with nature although it is close to downtown Tokyo.
